Heal Country, Heal Our Nation - commit to Connect to Country for the 20 Days leading up to NAIDOC week 2021, or any time that you can.
Connect anyway and from anywhere. We are encouraging all people from all backgrounds to join us.
By committing to Connect to Country for 20 Days, you will receive 1 of our Silicon Wrist Bands where 100% of the profit will go towards empowering Firesticks Practitioners To Restore Cultural Fire, by supporting the
Firesticks Alliance Indigenous Corporation's program in supporting Healing of Country that has been effected by the 2019-2020 Black Summer Fires.
This years NAIDOC Theme Healing Country is more than changing a word in our national anthem – it is about the historical, political, and administrative landscapes adapting to successfully empower and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, nations, and heritage.
By Connecting to Country, we gain a greater appreciation for Country and all that it can give.
We can learn from Country and Country can help us to Heal.
Why Firesticks Program?
Deadly Wears founders Traditional Country was heavily impacted by the Black Summer Fires. We are committed to Caring For Country. This years NAIDOC Theme presents an opportunity to focus on the future to Heal Country and Culture that has been heavily impacted since 1788.
Firesticks Program is focused on reinvigorating Cultural Burning Practices with local First Nation communities. Cultural burning may not be the sole solution, but we at Deadly Wears feel that it is a great place to start appropriately supporting the Healing and Protection of Country.
We hope you will join us in connecting to Country and Culture through these 20 Days.
